キミがいる; You Are Here is Ikimono Gakari’s 19th single, releasing 2010/08/04. The title track キミがいる was used as the theme song for the second season of the drama “Hotaru No Hikari” (ring a bell?) and is their first A-side written and composed by Kiyoe herself!

The cover? It’s random; apart from the fact that it greatly gives away the single as a summer single – using all those colors, it’s just nothing special…they should have chosen a better cover! It messes with my eyes (was that the whole point? =P)

  • キミがいる
  • キミがいる – Instrumental

No B-side? That’s a shame!
キミがいる is (obviously) a summer song, and I’m glad they’re back to the typical Ikimono style – fast to mid paced happy songs that compliment and are complimented by Kiyoe’s voice. The song starts off sort of like a ballad, with Kiyoe sounding very magical along with the arrangement, but the music soon turns to a happy, summery feel – not as fast paced as Kimagure Romantic – just mid paced happiness. I LOVE her voice in the verses, she sounds very hyper, and full of summer emotion. The verses are catchy (maybe a bit long and drag the song onto over 5 minutes) but the chorus is the real highlight of the song – it’s suprisingly catchy in a way that you’ll find yourself singing a tune you don’t know, and it’ll turn out to be THIS! The only problem I had is the instrumentation sections after each chorus, that also add to the length of the song. The chorus is repeated alot of times, but I guess it’s okay.
So overall…a nice release – I was very happy listening to this. RECOMMENDED!

The instrumental is….cute! I love listening to instrumentals, and this one is just happy, and CUTE! I’m glad they include instrumentals unlike SOMEONE *ahem* YES KANA! I’m TALKING ABOUT YOU!

For No B-Sides! DX

That’s about it!

Jaa! Mata Ne~

P.S. Random Promo! XD

[Pre-Release Review] Kana Nishino – if

Kana’s 11th single if, will release on 2010/08/04.

This cover SCREAMS Kana BALLAD! Overall, I really love the way everything’s placed in the cover; maybe ignoring the fact that her face looks kinda……round….(XD Gomen Kana!) But generally, the whole innocent, white background thing going on, makes her stand out alot – and the WRITING! Genius placement, and G.E.N.I.U.S is the person who chose the font. It’s perfect! Love this cover!

Okay, so to go the height of lame-ness, I’ll rate the covers!
This one gets:

On to the regular edition cover. Hmmm…..I actually like this more than the previous one. It’s again, very gentle, and ballad-y, with the same G.EN.I.U.S font. I also love her pose more in this one, and I love her clothes as well! Hmmm……Pretty, pretty Kana!

Now, moving on to the tracklist:

  • if
  • I’ll be there
  • Beautiful

The title track if, will be used as the ending theme song of the Naruto Shippuuden movie: Naruto Shippuuden 4: The Lost Tower. No complaints on that decision – I love Naruto, and I LOVE her songs! Great Combo!

if is BEAUTIFUL (judging from the beginning)! Being a ballad, it obviously retains Kana’s usual R&B style. The song starts off with some piano playing, followed by a very melancholy violin, Kana’s vocals, and the soft beats kick in. I am a sucker for these sort of beginnings, so naturally I already loved the song. Now, moving on to the verse, where she starts singing. OH NOES! I don’t know what to say – since the version of the song I have is just a rip form the video, it’s not exactly good quality, but even-so, her VOICE! *panics* It’s HIGH PITCHED!, and it ALMOST hurt my ears! Don’t do this KANA! The verses are overall interesting (tune-wise). However, the chorus is what makes the song so beautiful. I don’t know how to describe it, it’s just beautifully gorgeous in it’s own mid-paced way (the tune she’s singing is CATHCY and GORGEOUS at the same time). I won’t say anything about her vocals now, I’ll wait for the proper quality version. Now the bridge – pretty pretty Kana, is all I can say – I’m glad it wasn’t long and boring, and instantly kicks off to the final chorus. Her ad-libbing in the end is a great highlight, and that’s it! End of song. I’m not sure if it’s Naruto material, but I guess that will be decided once the movie is seen. Listen and decide!

Right now, I give it:
6/10, for vocals (the chorus made it a 6 otherwise 4/10)
9/10, for arrangement and tune.

Looking at the rest of the tracklist, I’m glad that she always has 2 B-sides, so listeners get the FULL single satisfaction, but WHY THE HELL are there never any instrumentals? Her songs are beautiful and I absolutely LOVE listening to instrumentals – especially of beautiful songs – of which she has a TRUCKLOAD! Put instrumentals in!
I guess the tracklist looks okay; I just hope they aren’t ALL ballads; I’d easily get sick of her singing in the same melancholy voice of hers in all 3 songs! (I’m not really bashing her voice…in fact it’s a compliment saying that she puts a lot of emotion in her songs – which is good – but not ALL the time!) So I guess I’m really looking forward to the single! PLEASE GOD! LET IT BE WORTH WAITING!

Random thought: He-he, wouldn’t it be totally freaky, but kinda cool, if she did a cover of Tohoshinki’s I’ll be there! =P *bricked* It’s A RANDOM THOUGHT!

That’s it I guess….I hope the rest of the single is good! I’m kinda confused about if right now – at least it fits the cover! =P

Here it is!

Not bad, I’ve been dying to hear the Remix! =D

*It’s a post, but the Mp3 is there!
(Ask me for the rest of the mp3s please, I can’t be bothered to upload them if no-one’s going to download! =P But I seriously don’t mind if you ask! SO ASK! I’ll reply for sure!=D)

1. No Other – I’ve done this! A nice laid back, R & B song, with very soft and synchronized vocals.

2. All My Heart (written by members: Henry and Leeteuk) is the next song listed on their repackaged album and right now, I’ll just say, that it’s a very sweet, easy going song, again very different from Bonamana, and No Other, even though it still retains that R & B feel. Their vocals are again, very nice, relaxed and as easy going as the song, and they’ve got the whole “Na Na Na” thing going on in the chorus. The overall impression coming from the song is very sweet, I-LOVE-YOU type (sort of like “Good Person”). The beats, the rap, the vocals make it a very enjoyable song. RECOMMENDED! ^_^

3. OH! THIS SONG! IT ALMOST MADE ME CRY! (written by member Eunhyuk and composed by member Donghae —> EUNHAE! XD) “Goodbye” is sung as the last song by Kangin, before going for military service. I have to admit, he was never really THERE in Super Junior for me, because I was sort of DROWNED with Kyuhyun and HeeChul, and I feel really bad that I did that after hearing this song! It’s so sweet, dominated by the piano accompanied with R & B beats and taking off with the line “Oh baby say Goodbye” and those amazing whispery vocals, after which Kangin takes control of the verses and DAMN! I love his voice! The verses are pretty short and the chorus is again “Oh baby say Goodbye———-“. The bridge is just as soft as the verses, and again, this is a very memorable addition to the album; I’m glad we have such great composers and writers here! YAY! WE’LL MISS YOU KANGIN! KANGIN+SUJU FIGHTING!

4. Shake It Up! REMIX! I was WAITING FOR THIS! I’ve got to say, I’m never really a fan of remixes, because they always speed the song, and make it more dancy than it should be. Well they didn’t do the speed up thing TOO MUCH (it’s still there), but the dance thing, they were ready to do, and with that, they got rid of the amazing Jazz feel of the song, and made it more techno dance, with a little more autotune. I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s just that like every other remix, I prefer the original version better! Not bad though!

[Single](Jap)[2010.06.09] Big Bang – Tell Me Goodbye

“Tell Me Goodbye” is BIGBANG’s fourth Japanese single. It was released in two versions: a regular CD Only edition, and a CD+DVD+Goods limited edition. The CD+DVD+Goods edition comes with a earphone cord holder that has a T.O.P character pattern. The title track was used as the opening theme for the Japanese broadcast of the Korean dorama IRIS. This makes their second theme song for the IRIS dorama, as their song “Hallelujah” was also used as theme song for the original Korean broadcast. The B-side, “HANDS UP”, was used as theme song for the TV-program Mezamashi Saturday. The single reached #5 on the Oricon Charts with 31,293 sales and is currently charting.

  • Tell Me Goodbye
(I’m sort of occupied so I’ll think of putting the Mp3’s later, but I find no reason for that! =P FANSITES!^_^)

Sounds – Like NOTHING I have heard before (I think =P)

1. I haven’t heard much from BIG BANG, and I feel like kicking myself for that after hearing Tell Me Goodbye. The piano play in the beginning is beautiful which (TO MY RELIEF) is accompanied by some very “strong” beats (I suppose) and GD opening the song, which I LOVE because even though I’m not too familiar with their music, I still have my favorite members and my favorite out of these guys is GD! I absolutely love the verses that are not too long like average Japanese songs and not too short like most Korean songs; they’re just the right length so by the time you reach the chorus, you won’t be dying to change the song. This brings us to the chorus, which takes some getting used to. WHY? because the verses are sung with very strong vocals and stronger music, while the chorus is sung lower, softer and the music mellows down as well so at first, the chorus seemed like a disappointment, but LOOK AT THAT! I LOVE IT NOW! Other than that, the rest, the rap, bridge everything is very amusing and it turned out to be a very wait-till-the-end song. Good job BB, I’ll listen to more of you from now on!

2. “HANDS UP! (Where I can see ’em!” – GOSH sorry that was lame!) is a typical song of the type I have heard TOO many times! JUST SIMPLY TOO MANY TIMES! So even though it may be pretty catchy, I lost interest almost as soon as it started, but I;m not really a DIE HARD fan, so I guess it doesn’t appeal to me too much, as much as it would to BB fans. Strong beats, catchy tune – okay song I guess! Nothing compared to TMG though!

(A 9.5/10 if they had made a better B-side!)

Bold – New Songs

Sounds – VERY DIFFERENT from Bonamana!

The boys really changed their image in this song – going from mature, and supposedly sexy concept to a much easy going, RnB phase, which is exactly what draws listeners to the song! I don’t know how many times I might have mentioned this earlier on, that their voices blend really well, (even if the song does sound a little bit autotuned), because the song starts off with a very catchy “OH-O” that is heard in every chorus, and is a great highlight of the song.  The beats used are very relaxed along with their voices, however, the chorus might seem a little bit rushed into with no actual transition, and they seem to be fitting too many words in together, but again, the OH-O at the back catches my attention. Also the rap is very…..how should I put it – Eunhyuk seems to be having fun with the rap, and they took every chance to squeeze in a bit of SORRY SORRY (Naega Michyeo Michyeo Baby!), which I thought was both cute and amusing! Like I said before, their vocals are very easy-going and I think I might even be enjoying No Other better than Bonamana, because it’s much simpler, cuter, and more fun to listen to.
So lay back, relax and listen to No Other!

(What can I say!? I LOVE the song!=P)

Is it just me or is there too much light on Ryeowooks face? XD

  1. Miina (BONAMANA) (미인아)*
  2. Nappeun Yeoja (Boom Boom) (나쁜 여자)*
  3. Eunggyeol (Coagulation) (응결)
  4. Naran Saram (Your Eyes) (나란 사람)
  5. My Only Girl
  6. Sarangi Ireotke (My All Is In You) (사랑이 이렇게)
  7. Shake It Up!
  8. Jamdeulgo Sipeo (In My Dream) (잠들고 싶어)
  9. Bomnal (One Fine Spring Day) (봄날)
  10. Joheun Saram (Good Person) (좋은 사람)
  11. Here We Go

* Promotional Songs/Singles

Starting of the album is their new single 미인아 (BONAMANA). The genre of this song is described as “SJ FUNKY”, which is true because it IS Super Junior, and the song IS “Funky” to a certain extent (although I don’t think anyone uses that term anymore XD). It’s got nice beats and all, and its heavily auto-tuned to the point that I couldn’t tell who was singing which part until I saw the video but the song does remind one of SORRY SORRY, maybe because it’s written and composed by the same person who did SORRY SORRY, and it also reminds me of SHINee’s Ring Ding Dong so it doesn’t actually seem like a TURNING POINT IN SJ MUSIC! Also, it’s probably not AS catchy as those 2 songs, might get annoying after a while, but nevertheless, it’s still CATCHY, whereas SORRY SORRY was CATCHY AS HELL!

From the “funky” sounds of Miina, we move onto another pretty catchy, dance number 나쁜 여자 BOOM BOOM (is it okay to call it dance? I’m not too sure). Pretty nice placing, that’s for sure, because BOOM BOOM isn’t as fast as Miina, and it generally makes a nice transition song. Not too bad as a song itself, it’s got a nice beat as well, maybe also annoying to listen to sometimes, maybe a bit MEH at times. It’s seriously a depends-on-your-mood type song. The best part probably has to be the “Twinkle Twinkle little star” line, slowing the song a little bit till the chorus, which was annoying and disappointing, I was expecting more of a rough, loud !BOOM BOOM! chorus and not the present one, which (I’m sorry) just ruins the song. Plus I can’t be bothered to listen to the full song in one go, because it’s just not THAT interesting!

Super Junior K.R.Y decides to take over in 응결 (Coagulation) after BOOM BOOM. Hmmm….not a bad song – pretty much dominated by the piano till the near middle, where more strong instruments kick in. Their vocals have always been impressive – they are pretty soft in the beginning and get louder and stronger with the music till a point where the MUSIC actually seems to drown their voices, which must stand for REALLY loud and strong instruments actually capable of dominating KYUHYUN’s voice! HA! Well, it does have it’s weak points but the song is overall very sweet, with a pretty “singable” tune, and a soft ending.

Turning away from Coagulation,we run into 나란 사람 (Your Eyes), a nice semi-mid paced song, with a pretty sweet arrangement, piano, finger snaps, and starting with the most suitable person to sing a song like this – Kyuhyun, moving onto Yesung – well no wonder, it’s a duet between those two which is a pretty good idea because their voices sound good  together in a song and they DO have the strongest vocals in the group. Nice song.

I’m not sure what genre we put My Only Girl into, but it is a catchy song, seems too slow too dance to. It’s got the typical techno feel to it, got a considerable amount of music changes. I can actually tell who’s singing what part – HEECHUL! I can HEAR HIM! YAY! FINALLY! It’s catchy, a kind of song that makes one just want to just shake a little, or just hum along with the chorus which, if you listen to over an over, is  really catchy – “You’re my Only, You’re My Only, You’re my O-O-O-Only Girl!”  However, it’s too short for my liking but a nice change from slow or mid paced songs!

Now we have the semi-mid paced half-cheerful 사랑이 이렇게 My All Is In You. I don’t really have much to say about this. It’s okay I guess. The guys’ voices blend in very well in the chorus, and Yesungs and Kyuhyun’s adlibbing is as impressive as ever. Like I said, it’s just half cheerful, a sort of put-a-good-feeling-in-your-heart type song.

Moving onto the most impressive and catchiest song of the album Shake It UP! DAMN! This song made me want to dance from the very first listen, even though it might not be a complete dance number. Like I said before, their voices blend perfectly, and thus the chorus going “SHAKE IT UP!~” is AMAZING! I love this song from A to Z. It’s got some nice jazz instruments runnning in the back as well and I would’ve actually preferred if they used this song as a promotional song and not BOOM BOOM. There’s just no describing this song, it’s one their best songs EVER!

Now, we have a ballad-type song 잠들고 싶어 (In My Dream). The name sort of gave it away, it’s a nice slow song, with pretty strong vocals from the guys. The chorus has very strong and steady vocals but won’t get stuck in your head. I’m glad this isn’t K.R.Y, but the rest as well (which mostly includes Sungmin and Donghae, but the others were there as well). Over that, the bridge and the last chorus were very impressive as well. A generally nice song.

Again, we have the slow-paced 봄날 – Bomnal (One Fine Spring Day). Ryeowooks solo – not bad, but he really isn’t my favourite, so I wasn’t really interested in the song. That said, the song’s got a nice tune, and his vocals fit in, with the piano and violins. The chorus is a bit One Fine Spring Day-ish(XD), so it is generally nice!

AHA! A song like Angela from their previous album  – 좋은 사람 (Good Person). It’s got a very cheerful the-day’s-gonna-be-fine feeling. A very “LOOK UP! The sky is shining!” type song. The kind of song I’ve heard most Japanese singers sing – the vocals and the music are balanced, so the music hasn’t overpowered their vocals and the bridge quickly transits to the last chorus. Not a bad addition to the album, actually, the album was desperately in need of such a song, after ther ballads! Nice job on this song!

Now! A song that makes me look forward to FIFA! HERE WE GO! This might not be the song they sang for the World Cup, but I wish they had. I don’t why, but it just reminds me of football, and it’s got a very “GET UP! GET UP” feeling – if you know what I mean. Plus I’m happy the bridge was sung with Yesung and Kyuhyun, because their vocals as usual are amazing and compliment each other. Also, I’m REALLY happy Eunhyuk, and Shindong ended the song with their rapping because they haven’t really been heard in the rest of the album! Ah! A nice end to the album! GOOD JOB GUYS!

I know, my ratings are lenient, but I really LOVE SUJU, and can’t give them less than a 5/10. Sorry Sorry!

Overall Rating

Jaa! Mata Ne~

Me likes: FREAKISHLY CATCHY SONG! Junsu looks……………I don’t have WORDS to describe what he looks like – the Mirotic hairstyle always suited him!
(please correct me if the lyrics I just randomly type are wrong, I can barely hear him in the video….hmm maybe because most of his notes are so ~AIRY~)
FANGIRL-ISM TO THE EXTREME! I’M SO HYPER! I love him on the floor, damn, his moves are soooooo…….elegant? wrong word? maybe… WHO CARES! I LOVE YOU JUNSU! But I can’t help but miss the old Junsu. Our cute little happy DOLPHIN XIAH! Good times…..good times…….
Oh! And his engRish actually moved on to engLish – there still might be a bit of an R in there, but it’s still improved – “INTOXICATION” was said P.E.R.F.E.C.T.L.Y. (wooh! I think I’m intoxicated!)

Not so much likes: OH NO! I was dreading him/his makeup artist/director doing something in his video that I wouldn’t like 1) HIS MAKEUP – which is CLEARLY not his fault. He looks almost diseased – his lips (MY SISTER IS OBSESSED WiTH HIS LIPS – IN A BAD WAY – SHE MAKES SO MUCH FUN OF HIM!) look like all the colour was suddenly drained out of them, and I know, it might be his skin color, but he looks YELLOW in the main parts of the video, and I mean SERIOUSLY YELLOW. PLUS – the parts with the white BG and the hat? – NO NO NO!
2) HIS HANDS! DID HE NOT MOISTURIZE BEFORE HIS VIDEO! GAWD! SERIOUSLY! I cannot stand looking at his hands especially at the “YUBISAKI” part!

Oh well – enough ranting I have to go STUDY! Seriously, this is torture – how can someone go and study after watching INTOXICATION by Xiah Junsu! Were our parents NEVER kids? Did they NEVER have fandom days? SHEESH!

I have to say I’ve absolutely LOVED IKIMONO GAKARI ever since I heard Blue Bird on Naruto Shippuuden! But lately, they haven’t been making any GOOD or SOLID songs – by which I mean songs like Hotaru No Hikari; ホタルノヒカリ or Futari; ふたり. Nakumonka; なくもんか; and Nostalgia; ノスタルジア just weren’t GOOD enough to listen to. So when I heard these two songs my love for them deteriorated, and I became more “indulged” – OBSESSED with BOYBANDS. But now, that all of our boys (and by “boys” I mainly mean TOHOSHINKI/DBSK and SUJU) are busy doing something or the other, I thought of going back to THESE 2 GUYS+WOMAN/GIRL! And what did I find? mmmmmm…..maybe a song not so good as their normal songs but a good song nonetheless.

ありがとう; Arigatou

My thoughts about the song: It’s O……kay. I miss Ikimono gakari’s fast tempo songs. Mizuno-san needs to write more songs like Hotaru No Hikari, Blue Bird or even Futari. These mid tempo songs just don’t cut it.

My thoughts about the video: KIYOE LOOKS AMAZING! She actually looks a level prettier than before! PLUS I REALLY like what shes wearing. (This is one of the many thigs I love about her; her dresses are never FLASHY or EXTRAVAGANT, she always wears something that looks good and I bet is pretty comfortable.) Everyone looked so touched by the song and the bubble effect is nice too though the ballerina-type-girls-who-look-like-ballerinas-but-are-not-dressed-like-them weren’t all that necessary were they. Even so, the video too is just…fine. Not too HEART RENDERING
